From this, happiness in both the short term and the long term for both yourself and others will come. ~Dalai Lama~Linda H.https://www.blogger.com/profile/01005584805379179415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2531917839776747042.post-22809004971881815022012-01-12T22:13:20.781+01:002012-01-12T22:13:20.781+01:00Actually, Tami, Corinna organized the clothing dri...Actually, Tami, Corinna organized the clothing drive. I just extended her call to my friends in the area. Since my brother once lost everything in a fire, I know what a challenging situation this is. It will take a while for that family to get back on their feet again and regardless what people think, the amount one gets from insurance (if they are covered) never quite comes close to what one needs to replace everything. And many personal things can never be replaced.

Basically, I think kindness and compassion go a long way. Whenever I can do something to help, I try my best to do so. It is often a cruel world out there. Why not shine a little sunshine when we can :-)

And by the way, you deserve a little reward yourself for donating clothing.

JOYCE, I also hate "thank you in advance". Why not just say thank you or just say "we hope you can...". Seems a bit silly to thank someone before they do something and also implies expectation which can be a bit rude depending on the circumstance. (And thanks for hosting Wednesday Hodgepodge. I now look forward to Wednesday's, in anticipation of what questions await)Linda H.https://www.blogger.com/profile/01005584805379179415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2531917839776747042.post-29720498046850986512012-01-12T14:58:13.232+01:002012-01-12T14:58:13.232+01:00A few people mentioned my bad. I was amazed to read other blogs and see how many people have never been there. It's a shame, because it's a party of our history and really is beautiful.

I know you didn't mention anyone in particular with the random act of kindness. You; however, did a random act yourself when you organized a clothing drive for a family who lost everything in a fire. This family was in the US and you are in Germany… you STILL helped and did what you could. I nominate you, Linda!Tamihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10061237531468065806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2531917839776747042.post-47495570015039404922012-01-12T02:12:19.638+01:002012-01-12T02:12:19.638+01:00Enjoyed your answer. It presumes you're going to do a favor or something.
I hate lunges, bad knees, though I don't mind squats so much.Susan Gourleyhttp://www.susangourley.comnoreply@blogger.com
